When I made this meal for a very first time we (me and my boyfriend) loved it so much that I made it again the next day… And another 2-3 times after that. It’s really a 30 minutes meal and so good that it has already become one of my favourite. Plus, I am always happy when my boyfriend likes to eat something that is so easy to prepare. Whenever he asks for sticky sausages – puts a smile on my face, because I don’t have to do almost anything and that way everybody is happy. :)
I don’t like very spicy food, but I always make this sausages quite spicy (meaning I add quite a bit of the tomato chutney) because the yogurt salad neutralises the spiciness and make them just perfect !
So ladies, make your life a little bit easier, and cook your man a super easy meal, that he will love ( and vice versa) !!
Recipe source: Good Food Magazine
Ingredients:
- 1 or 2 red onions, cut into wedges
- 6 good-quality pork sausages
- 750 g baby new potatoes
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp natural yogurt
- 3 spring onions, finely sliced
- 150 g sweetcorn, drained
- 3 tbsp tomato chutney (I bought mine from the store, it was very tasty)
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil

Method:
1. Heat the oven to 200 °C | 390 °F | Gas 6. Put the sausages and the onion in a shallow roasting pan and toss them with the sunflower oil. Bake for 25 minutes, turning them once for even browning. I turn them half way through (after 15 minutes).
2. While the sausages are baking, boil the potatoes for 12 -15 minutes until tender, then run under cold water and drain.
3. In a bowl, mix the mayo, yogurt, sweetcorn and spring onions. Thickly slice the potatoes. Pour the yogurt mixture over them and stir lightly. Season.
4. Turn the oven up to 220 °C | 420 °F | Gas. Add the chutney to the sausages and onions. Bake for 5-10 more minutes, until sausages are cooked and sticky.
Serve with potato salad.

Hello
Please tell me more about the tomato chutney you used. Was it home made or store purchased. If it was home made, where can I find the recipe? Thank you for your reply.
Hi Diana,
I bought the chutney from a store where they sale Asian and Exotic food. It was very good and tasty. I haven’t made my own chutney yet, so I don’t have a recipe, but if you want to make it yourself you can look it up on the internet there are lot’s of recipes there from other bloggers.
Hiya Diana! I just want to tell you that I have now made your “sticky sausages” 3 times this week! OMG everybody loves them and keep asking for more. I have a teenage son (16) who is a big meat eater he just loves his steaks and roasts but he has raved about this dish and can’t get enough (I love how much cheaper this is to feed him, hehehe) and I have made it for our extended family and there’s never any leftovers
So far I have only used Tomato Chutney as per your receipe but I am curious to know if you have experimented with other chutneys like Fruit?? Mango?? Caramelized Onion?? 10/10 thanx Diana
Hi, Monica !
) I will let you know too
)
Thank you so much for sharing this. We love that recipe very much too, and there are never any leftovers at our home either ! To be honest , I have never tried with other kind of chutney, but your comment made me laugh, because a few days ago I bought mango chuthney, because I wanted to try the recipe with it !! I will not be able to make it for about a week or two as I am away. so if you do make it before that please let me know if it’s good!!
