I have always liked sweet and salty food combinations, also sausages with fruit jam and that kind of stuff…So when I saw this recipe in a magazine, I had to try it ! I thought to myself ”Apple and pork…that should be good !” . And so it was ! And it was also very quick meal, and the best part is that you need to wash just one, and I repeat, just one pan after you are done cooking

Ingredients
- a knob of butter
- 1 tbsp sunflower, vegetable or olive oil
- 2 pork chops
- 2 small apples, peeled, cored and cut into wedges ( I used Jonagold)
- 150 ml dry cider
- 1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
- 2 tbsp creme fraiche
- small handful of thyme leaves, chopped
Method
1. Heat the oil and the butter in a large pan.
2. Season the pork chops and brown for 3 minutes. Turn over and add the apples, cleaned and cut into wedges. Cook until the apples are golden.
3. Pour over the dry cider and bubble until the pork is cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
4. Remove the pork and the apples to a serving dish.
5. Stir the mustard, creme fraiche and the thyme through the sauce in the pan. Bubble for 2 -3 minutes until thickened. Pass the through a sieve and spoon over the pork.
It’s great served with mashed potatoes !!

Винаги съм обичала да смесвам сладко и солено, наденички с конфитюр и подобни комбинации. Затова когато видях тази рецепта в едно списание, нямаше как да не я пробвам. Както и очаквах – беше доста вкусно ! Много е бърза и лесна, и най-хубавото е , че след като сготвите трябва да измиете само един тиган !
